Zwift-GGCC Glasgow Green Saturday Training Ride 21/10

Today I was leading our GGCC team through the virtual streets of France on the “Casse-Pattes” course on the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a two lap training ride with two sprints, two climbs each lap and an optional mini-race at the end of the ride.

We started on a 2,6W/kg easy pace to warm up a bit before we went on a more higher pace of 2,8W/kg. Because the first sprint is quite late on the course we really were warmed up nicely for that one.
Here are the results of the first and second of the Pavé sprint:

After this sprint was done and just some more kilometers in the legs the famous Aqueduc KOM Revers “climb” was waiting for us. Also here some guys could show what their legs were good for.
Let’s check the results of the two attempts:

And of course the lap has another nice short sprint at the end of the lap, the Marina sprint reverse. Also here we had some guys showing what they had left in their legs. Because this sprint is also the finish of our optional mini-race, the sprinters only had one chance to go for that one.
Let’s see what the list has ready for us:

Our good friend Valois really showed what his legs can do – congrats to the jerseys you got today 🏆

The Petit KOM gave us some problems keeping the group together on the first run for that climb. Unfortunately, we lost 11 souls to the fence.
The second run for that climb was already during our mini-race, because the start of the climb also is the start for the race. Let’s check who had the strongest legs here:

The racers really went off right from the start up the Petit KOM. And what has to go up has to go down as well 😁 And this downhill gave the race quite some spices. The whole race only was 6,5km, but because of the up- and downhill it was fun to watch.

Congratulations to our podium: T. Hartmann 🥇, B. Wu 🥈 and Valois 🥉 – well done guys 👍🏻

Big thanks too all riders for playing with us today!
