Today I was leading our GGCC team through the virtual streets of Watopia on the Zwift riding platform, the “Sugar Cookie”. Thanks Damian M. for going in red as well Roger for helping out today 👍🏻
As always we had some sprints and an optional mini-race at the end of the ride.

For the warm-up lap through the jungle we went at around 2,6W/kg, after the start on the flats 2,8W/kg and higher on the uphills. The biggest challenge was the last long climb to keep the group together. Luckily the bypass back to the jungle was long enough to bring the group back together.
The new cost road is really a lot of fun, not even because all the sprints but also because of the flats and the bumps. Our sprinters really had something to do. On the short coast road doing four hard sprints is quite challenging. Let’s check the result lists:

Congrats to our two sprinters for going in green and most and foremost to Sarah S. for going in green for the ladies – good job 👍🏻

After the coast road was done we went towards the climb to come back to the jungle via the bypass. Luckily we could go quite at a good pace for keeping most of the riders with us. The ones further back at the back could come back to the group because of the longer bypass road towards our optional mini-race start. Specially here I have to thanks the guys around Damian for helping the tail coming back to the group.
At the green jungle screen I gave the GO to start mini-race, roughly 6,5km long. Directly from the start quite a group went hard right from the gun. Some guys tried sprinting away from the group, but no chance for them. Every rider trying we chased down not only because of our group size but also because Sarah S and Bruch W. did quite a job with me at the front.
Let’s check out the podium:

Congrats to B. Wu 🥇, J. Wolkow 🥈 and T. Iwasaki 🥉 for the podium – fair racing 👍🏻
Thanks to Sarah Storey for riding with us today and helping out in the leading group.
