Today I was leading our 6Points Mallorca team through the virtual streets of Makuri Island on the “Suki’s Playground” course on the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a two lap training ride with an optional mini-race at the end of the ride.

We started at a decent pace of around 2,6W/kg for the first kilometers. After we warmed up nicely, we went at a little higher pace of around 2,8W/kg. At the hill we tried staying at around 3,2W/kg, standing up and dancing the paddels helps quite good for that.
This course is all about enjoying the environment and having fun with training at the same time.
Today we really could enjoy the surroundings of the course because there is just one sprint to do. Of course we had to stay focused during the “climb”, but in general the course is quite flat. We did a good workout focused on fat burning. The climb helped quite good by just keeping a steady pace. Faster cadence on the flats and slower rpm on the climb.
Our sprinters had to prepare themself for this one sprint on the list, let’s check out the result:

Congrats to B. Verberckmoes on the green jersey 🏆
Of course, during the minirace we also crossed the sprint banner, but many did not really try. But it’s always nice to check out what happened across the line 😇

From around 6,8km to go I gave the GO GO GO for our racers. I also raised the power to lead the group towards the sprint banner. The group kept being together until the first part of the castle climb. During the climb our racers really pushed everything they had left for getting away from the group.
At the top the group was completely slit up and many went at their own pace.
Our leading racers had quite some job to do keeping the momentum down the hill for sprinting to the finish line. But our good friend B. Wu had the best breakaway from the climb. Let’s check out the result:

Congrats to B. Wu 🥇, B. Wakem 🥈 and B. Verberckmoes 🥉 on the podium.
Thanks to all for coming and riding with us today.
For more detail check out Zwift Power.
Thanks to B. Wu we have a nice video from the minirace.
