I led our GGCC team through the virtual streets of Watopia today. We used the Zwift riding platform, specifically the “Tempus Fugit” course. Thanks Jam S. for going in red and Roger B. helping out today 👍🏻
As always we had some sprints and an optional mini-race at the end of the ride.

As always we started at a little lower pace for warming up the legs. After the first sprint we went up to a steady 2,8W/kg (around 200W avg. @71kg). Because of this flat course and we were 165 riders we had quite a good speed over all.
All the flat part was just for training purpose at a steady pace. Our sprinters could show their legs twice, and there was our optional mini-race with quite a good speed.
Let’s check the two results for the Fuego Flats:

Congrats to H. Thank You for the sprint win with a really good time 🏆
After the sprints were done an dusted, we focused more on getting the legs ready for the long mini-race. But first there was the way towards the roundabout in the desert for going back onto the desert road. While bringing the fence down to 2 sec our racers got their legs ready.
At the line for the “Fuego Flats Reverse” there were about 9 km to go. I gave the GO GO GO for our racers. I had a fast group with me at quite a pace for nearly all the race.
Let’s check out the result for our mini-race:

Congrats to N. DeHaan 🥇, 5. Harte 🥈 and B. Wu 🥉 on the podium – good job 👍🏻
Of course we had two more times tables to check, the Fuego Flats Reverse and the Fuego Flats during the race:

Thanks to all riders for coming and having fun with us today.
