Zwift-GGCC Glasgow Green Saturday Training Ride 22-03-2025

I led our GGCC team through the virtual streets of France today. We used the Zwift riding platform, specifically the “R.G.V.” course. Thanks Jam S. for going in red and Ian for helping out today 👍🏻
As always we had some sprints and an optional mini-race at the end of the ride.

As always we started at a little lower pace for warming up the legs. After the first sprint we went up to a steady 2,8W/kg (around 200-205W avg. @71kg). Because of this flat course and we had quite a good speed over all.
The profile of the course gave us not a 100% steady pace, but it went quite well anyhow. Always nice to have some changes to the course, like the fun KOM on it. Our sprinters could show their legs. There was our optional mini-race, which ended with quite a good speed.

Let’s check the sprint results:

Congrats to all sprinters for the green jerseys and to Erica for getting in green for the ladies 🏆

Lets check the KOM result:

Congrats to O. F JMT for the KOM win 🏆

After the sprints and KOM were done an dusted, we focused more on getting the legs ready for the mini-race. While bringing the fence down to 2 sec our racers got their legs ready.
At the point where we had 6,5 km left to go, from the “Balloon sprint Rev.”, I gave the GO GO GO for our racers. I had a fast group with me at quite a pace for nearly all the race. One rider was getting a little quicker after a while. For the last km some riders went at a higher pace for getting the podium.

Let’s check out the result for our mini-race:

Congrats to Juma S. 🥇, J. Taylor 🥈 and S. Brennan🥉 on the podium – good job 👍🏻

Thanks to all riders for coming and having fun with us today.

  1. Martin, the web shortlink WAS in your Strava post title comment, as per the attached screenshots, but deleted from the post comments in my feed.

I’m finding the Strava oddness about URLs quite irritating!

      • I guess they trust ride organisers, who can set ride titles and descriptions, not to introduce “inappropriate” URLs (competitive provider links or blasphemous words perhaps) into Strava’s world, but don’t trust the average rider, who can only comment on rides.
