Today, I led our GGCC team through the virtual streets of Makuri Island. This activity was on the “Electric Loop” course on the Zwift riding platform. In total, it was a four-lap training ride. There were four sprints and an optional mini-race at the end of the ride.
Thanks to Jam for leading the red group today and Roger for helping out – good job 👍🏻

We started at a lower pace for warming up.
My main focus on pace was starting at 195 and slowly going up to 205W average. The first lap we went at around 196W, right before the minirace start we reached 210W. Important was keeping always a steady 90-95 rpm. Most of the last lap was our optional minirace where everybody went at their own speed.
Our sprinters had the opportunity doing each of the two different sprints twice for getting the green jersey. We got some good numbers, let’s check:

Congrats to F. Minty and Dylan on the green jerseys 🏆
After the last sprint was done and dusted we had a calmer third lap for getting ready for the optional minirace. During the rest of the third lap we got together again for starting the minirace at the “Alley Sprint” line.
I brought the fence slowly down first to 5sec and than to 2sec. More and more getting closer to the start I raised the power.
The racers easily waited until the GO GO GO for staring the race. The main group raised the power quite a bit towards the finish line. We stayed close together, drafting until the last kilometers. Close to the finish line some riders went away from the racing group. The last 500m really was a group sprint where everybody gave all breath was left.
Let’s check who got the win:

Congrats to Dylan 🥇, A. Krupy 🥈 and F. Minty 🥉 on the podium.
Thanks to all for coming and riding with us today.
