Zwift-GGCC Glasgow Green Saturday Training Ride 16-08-2025

Today I was leading our GGCC team through the virtual streets of Scotland. We were on the “Rolling Highlands” on the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a four lap training ride with an optional mini-race at the end. Pace wise I aimed for a 205W avg. before the minirace. Of course we started much lower during the lead-in.
Thanks JC for helping out today and Jam for leading the red beacon group 👍🏻

Because of the base of GGCC we went through the nice scenery of Scotland. The Rolling Highlands are not only nice looking, the course also is quite hard to ride on. But there are even harder courses to choose from 😉

For most of our three laps before the mini-race we had a good peloton. Most of the riders were all together which gave us a good draft. But still it was a hard ride because of the nature of the course profile. We had two main groups in total, the peloton and the RB group. Some riders were right behind the fence for a part of the ride. During the last lap all returned to the peloton. We had a good group for the last kilometers.

This course does not have a sprint banner like we usually see. Still, there is a nice and short KOM “Breakaway Brae”. Here, not many riders went fast during our laps. However, our mini-race contributed some nice numbers to the mix. Let’s check out the results from the first two laps:

Let’s see the climbing results from the race:

During the last lap, from 5,1km to go, I gave the GO GO GO for our optional mini-race. The two “climbs” are giving some spices into the race. And the Breakaway Brae KOM is a spicy sprint uphill towards the finish line.
Let’s check the race results:

Congrats to R. Johanson 🥇, T. Cybulski 🥈 and M. Burmester 🥉 for the podium.

Thanks to all for coming and riding with us today.
