I led our GGCC team through the virtual streets of Watopia today. We used the Zwift riding platform, specifically the “Tempus Fugit” course. Thanks Jam for going in red and Jamie for helping out today 👍🏻 As always on this course, we had two sprints. And there was our optional mini-race at the end of the ride.

As always we started at a little lower pace for warming up the legs. After the first sprint we went up to a steady pace around 195-200W avg. (@71kg). Because of this flat course we had quite a good speed over all.
All the flat part was just for training purpose like a z2 recovery ride. Our sprinters could show their legs twice, and there was our optional mini-race with a hard pace.
Let’s check the results for the Fuego Flats sprint:

Congrats to I. Wimpenny for the sprint win with a good time 🏆
After the sprints were done an dusted, we focused more on getting the legs ready for the long mini-race. But first there was the way towards the roundabout in the desert for going back onto the desert road. I went a bit faster for the 2’nd lap until the minirace. While bringing the fence down to 2 sec our racers got their legs ready.
At the line for the “Fuego Flats Reverse” there were about 9 km to go. I gave the GO GO GO for our racers. I had a fast group with me at quite a pace for nearly all the race. All ended up in a group sprint for the Fuego Flats.
Let’s check out the result for our mini-race:

Congrats to H. Thank You 🥇, J. Kankaanranta 🥈 and Martin B. 🥉 on the podium – good job 👍🏻
Thanks to all riders for coming and having fun with us today.

Because of the pace during the race we also have the results for the “Fuego Flats Reverse”:
