Zwift-GGCC Glasgow Green Saturday Training Ride 27-09-2025

Today I was leading our GGCC team through the virtual streets of the “Flatland Loop” on the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a three lap training ride with some good sprints and an optional mini-race.
Thanks to Jamie for going in red today – good job mate 👍🏻

We started at a good warm-up pace to get some blood into the legs. Every lap had two sprints, the Country Sprint and the Village Sprint. We only did the sprints on the first two laps because of the optional mini-race at the end, around 5,4km.
Today we had quite a strong group riding hard. This took the planned power output in the range of 195-205W avg. Before the minirace we hit around 206W avg at 71kg.

On each sprint of the two per lap our sprinters used their strong legs. We really had some hard sprinting with good numbers to show up. The sprinters could bring some really good numbers to the table. Let’s check the results for both of them:
Country Sprint:

Village Sprint:

Congrats to A. Raviolo for getting the green jersey on both of them. And to A. Frost for the ladies 🏆

After the sprints were done and dusted I was leading the peloton towards the optional mini-race start.
Basically we went up in power a bit for preparation of our racers legs. Slowly I brought the fence down to 5sec first and 2sec before the race start. We had the group closely together for having a fair race start.

Shortly after race start a good group went on a higher pace away from the main peloton. Jamie was doing a great job keeping them together to the finish line. I was with the race leaders going at a good race pace. There was always one rider trying getting away from us. Everyone tried and pushed everything left in their legs at the finishing group sprint.
Let’s check out the results:

Congrats to A. Raviolo 🥇, Martin B. 🥈 and M. Altm 🥉 for the podium – good racing 👍🏻

Thanks to everyone for coming and riding with us today.
