I led our GGCC team today. We rode through the virtual streets of Makuri Island on the “Neon Flats” course using the Zwift riding platform. In total we had three laps with four sprints the first two laps. At the end we did our optional mini-race.

I pushed around 2,6 W/kg until the first sprint just to bring the HR up. After I gave the GO for the first sprint I set the general power around 2,8 W/kg. There are some bumpers during the course. At these bumpers, I pushed around 2,8 – 3,4 W/kg for a short moment.
But to bring the group together after each sprint I went down with the power numbers to 2,6-2,8 W/kg. Luckily the fence helped me showing the sprinters when to come back to the group again – good job 👍🏻
Talking about sprinting, there are some results to show of. For the first lap:

There were some times coming, but it looked like the sprinters saved some power for the next round.
During the second lap they had their last chance to get the fastest time on each sprint. Let’s check the second round out:

As I guessed before, the second round was much faster. Here the sprinters showed what they could go for. But of course, one has to save some juice when willing to go for our optional mini-race 😜
Well done sprinters and congrats to the green M. Ferdinand and Karen B. for the ladies 🏆
After the last sprint, I went down with the power a bit during the rest of the second lap. I maintained lower power to have a good recovery before the race start. Then I gave the GO GO GO for our racers.
With my GO I also raised the power to lead a larger group towards the race finish. We had quite a long way with good power. We in the leader-group increased our power numbers to a higher level until the end. We continued until we pushed everything we had left for the last sprint of the ride. And here are the results:

Congrats to M. Ferdinand 🥇, Martin B. 🥈 and I. Silva 🥉 on the podium.
