Today, I guided our GGCC team through the virtual streets of “Double Parked”. We rode on one of the new courses in New York on the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a one lap training ride with an optional mini-race at the end.
Thanks to Jam for going with the red group and Jamie for helping me out today – good job guys 👍🏻

We started during the lead-in with an easy pace around 2,6 W/kg. From the 1’st sprint banner on I tried staying within a steady 200W avg. By going at a steady pace the sprinters focused on doing their job. And we had some good sprints 💪🏻
We had three sprints as a good test of the sprinters legs. Our sprinters really tried everything until the end. They aimed to get fast times and the green jersey. I always tried dragging the group at a little higher pace. Today we had a close one between some sprinters 💪🏻
Let’s check what numbers we got:

Congrats to our sprinters for going hard and getting the green jersey 🏆
Now the sprints were done and dusted. We focused on coming to our optional minirace from the last sprint banner on the bridge. I went at a little lower pace for bringing the group together. But the pace was still good enough for having a good race start. Towards the race start I went more and more up in pace. At the same time I took the fence down to 2sec. The pace of course changed dramatically for the last part 👹
Because of the downhill we had a good group going at full speed from the start line. For most of the minirace we stayed together for the best drafting effect. Some riders tried getting away from the race leading group. In the end we caught them and it came down to a good group sprint.
In the end a hard sprint did sort the podium, let’s see:

Congrats to. A. Krupy 🥇, Martin B. 🥈 and M. Watkins 🥉 on the podium.
Thanks to all riders for coming and riding with us today.
