Zwift-GGCC Glasgow Green Saturday Training Ride 24-01-2026

Today, I was leading our GGCC team. We rode through the virtual streets of Innsbruck on the “Innsbruckring” using the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a four lap training ride with an optional full lap mini-race at the end.

Today we went three laps as a training ride. We had the challenge of going up the “Leg Snapper.” We also faced the fast “Innsbruck Sprint.” Keeping the group together is even more challenging because of the downhill after the KOM. And indeed did we have a split after the first try. Some riders were left behind forming a group at their own pace.

During the first two laps, our sprinters had a good chance for a fast sprint. We had a really good time during the second lap. Let’s check out the two sprinting results:

Congrats T. Rossmann on the green jersey – good job 🏆 Hope you got your breath back 😉

Some riders tried the KOM already during our training laps. That made the peloton split up and many riders also went in front of the fence. It took our riders quite some time to form a steady training group. After the first sprint I went quite slow to get at least some riders back. On the other laps the field was more together.
During the fourth lap, I led the racers towards the Lag Snapper. We had quite a good group together until the climb. We went at a much higher pace compared to the other laps of course. Here our KOM riders and racers had a good chance going for a nice PR. Let’s check:

Congrats to I. Silva for the best KOM time, even below 50sec 🏆
We also had 9 riders below 1min, not bad 👍🏻

After the Leg Snapper done the focus was the finish line. Here our racers did a great job keeping the momentum high. Of course the downhill towards the sprint line helped them, but also the long straight road towards the finish. Some rider could even get into a breakaway. The pace of the racing group was at a nice pace. Let’s check out the podium:

Congrats to I. Silva 🥇, M. Hofmann 🥈 and S. Mckenzie 🥉 on the podium.

Thanks to all riders for coming and riding with us today.
