Today I was leading our GGCC team through the virtual streets of New York on the Zwift riding platform. We did six laps of the “Issendorf Express”. Thanks Jam and Roger for going in red today. Also thanks to Jamie for helping me out in the peloton – Good job mates!
As always we had some sprints and an optional mini-race at the end of the ride.

For the 1’st lap as a warm-up we went at around 185-190W avg. For the next laps we maintained from 195 up to 205W avg. Higher power was needed on the tiny uphill. Our sprinters really had something to do and they did indeed. On every lap we only did one sprint, the KOM the riders could do during our minirace. It’s quite a flat and fast course where we had a good pace going on. That even helped the sprinters doing an even higher speed bringing their numbers down.
Let’s check the result lists for our sprints:

Congrats to S. Benton, A. Hendry and P. Martin for getting the green jerseys 🏆
After the sprints were done we focused on preparing the racers for their job. The 5’th lap was just a preparation, calming down a bit. The full 6’th lap was our optional minirace.
I brought the fence to 2sec and we went nicely along the last more easy lap. I gave the GO GO GO for our racers – and off they went.
I had some strong peloton riders with me. Jamie helped me out leading them through the cours and up the hills. There was a strong group going together towards the KOM. Of course, the KOM and the last 300m to the finish line was hard sprinting. Let’s check out the race results:

Congrats J. Taylor 🥇, A. Hendry 🥈 and D. Edwards 🥉 on the podium – good and strong racing guys.
Of course there was also the list for the KOM: Strong effort B. Smith 🏆

Thanks to all for coming and having fun with us today.
