Zwift-GGCC Glasgow Green Saturday Training Ride 11/11

Today I was leading our GGCC team through the virtual streets of Watopia on the new “Coast Crusher” course on the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a hard training ride with an optional mini-race at the end of the ride.
We had our good old friends Roger as the red beacon and Andrew helping me in the peloton – thanks mates, good job 👍🏻

Today we use one of the new courses along the south cost for the second time. It is a nice out and back route with quite a long downhill lead-in along the gravel roads of the jungle.
As always we started at a lower pace on the gravel downhill towards the start of the new cost route. After the start banner we went around 2,8-3,0 W/kg and around 3,2-3,4 W/kg on the bumps. For the downhills we went a little lower again just to relax. After the first two sprints we got a second group lead by our friend Ira. Roger had a good group with him in the red beacon group.

Of course we had a lot of sprinting before we went into our optional mini-race. Let’s see the results of the different sprints:

Congrats to B. Wu to most of the green jerseys, P. Callahan for the last sprint.
And for the ladies Helen went in green – good job 🏆

From the second to last sprint banner of the course we had our optional mini-race which was 8,3km in total. I raised the power quite a bit, but we the peloton was together for quite a while.
First from the 1,5km mark the race rally was on and the racers showed what they had left in their legs.

Congrats to R. Raed 🥇, P.aping jr 🥈 and JoeC 🥉 for the podium.
Thanks to all riders for coming and playing with us today – good job ladies and gents 👍🏻

Strangely our good old friend Bruch W. 🥇 is not on the Zwift list as the first place on the podium. So check out the results in more detail on Zwift Power
