Today I was leading our GGCC team through the virtual streets of the “Flatland Loop” on the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a three lap training ride with some good sprints and an optional mini-race.
Thanks to JC for going in red and Jam for helping out today – good job mates 👍🏻

We kicked off at a steady warm-up pace, priming the legs with blood flow. Each lap featured two punchy sprints—the Country Sprint and Village Sprint—but we held fire after the first two laps to save gas for the optional 5.4km mini-race finale. The group was stacked today, pushing hard and clocking a solid 202W average (hitting 206W avg at 71kg pre-mini). Lap 1 saw a nasty split after the intense sprints and gnarly downhill, but shoutout to the chase riders who bridged us back together. At the same downhill during the 2’nd lap the peloton was more together.
On each sprint of the two per lap our sprinters used their strong legs. We really had some hard sprinting with good numbers to show up. The sprinters could bring some really good numbers to the table during the 2’nd lap indeed. Let’s check the results for both of them:
Country Sprint:

Congrats to R. Gransmore for getting the green jersey here 🏆
Village Sprint:

Congrats to S. Qvist for getting the green jersey here 🏆
Sprints wrapped, I took the helm, towing the peloton to the optional 5.4km mini-race start. We ramped power to fire up the racers’ legs, steadily reeling in the fence—5s gap first, down to 2s right before GO.
Group glued tight for a fair launch. Race kicked off, and a strong breakaway surged ahead. Big props to JC for the Herculean pull, keeping us glued to the line. Attacks flew at the bumps, but we held the pack intact until the downhill.
Let’s check out the results:

Congrats to T. Dean 🥇, Martin B. 🥈 and N. Ssong 🥉 for the podium – good racing 👍🏻
Thanks to everyone for coming and riding with us today.
