Today I was leading our GGCC team through the virtual streets of Makuri Islands on the “Sleepless City” course on the Zwift riding platform. In total we had four laps where the last lap was our optional mini-race starting from the sprint banner.
Thanks to JC who was our rider in red, as well as Ian and Jam for helping out – good job guys 👍🏻

For a long time we are back on this “sleepless” course. With the riders we had with us today it was not sleepless indeed.
We started at a good warm-up pace to get some blood into the legs. After the first sprint I tried a steady 195-205W avg. pace for a person at 71kg. Each lap I pushed a little harder for getting up to 205W avg. before our optional minirace.
Our sprinters had three chances for showing their legs. The sprinters challenged themself each lap getting the fastest time possible. At the end we had quite some numbers, let’s check:

Congrats to C. Yamamoto for going in green – strong effort 🏆
At the last lap from the sprint banner I gave the GO GO GO for our racers. For the first km we had one group together. But very soon some guys went with all they had towards the finish line. But we had quite some strong riders left in the racing group. We never lost contact to the leading racers. At the end we were together as one group again. And you might already guess, we had a hard group sprint to the line.
It was a good and powerful ride today and a vary fair mini-race with some power. Let’s check the result:

Congrats to Martin B. 🥇, W. Brühl 🥈and C. Yamamoto 🥉for the podium.
Thanks to all riders for coming an riding with us today.
