Today, I guided our GGCC team through the virtual streets of the “Champs-Élysées”. We rode in Paris on the Zwift riding platform. In total it was a five lap training ride with an optional full lap mini-race at the end.
Thanks to JC for going in red today and Jamie for helping out in the peloton – good job 👍🏻

We started during the lead-in with an easy pace around 2,6 W/kg. From the lap banner on I tried staying with a steady 200W avg. By going at a steady pace the sprinters focused on doing their job. We had some strong sprinters with us today.
I always tried dragging the group at a little higher pace for giving the sprinters a good draft. Today it was close on the top.
Let’s check what numbers we got:

Congrats to A. Donaldson for going in green and O. White for the ladies 🏆
Now the “sprints” were done and dusted. We took a more relaxing lap before we came to our optional minirace. I went at a little lower pace for bringing the group together. But the pace was still good enough for having a good race start. Towards the race start I went more and more up in pace. At the same time I took the fence down to 2sec. The pace of course changed for the last lap 👹
We had a small group going at full speed from the start line. For a short bit we stayed together for the best drafting effect. Before the “climb” up to the arch some went away at a harder pace. By giving quite some extra power some riders could be catched before going into the tunnel. End the end there was a good sprinting towards the line for having a nice lap number.
In the end we had the podium, let’s see:

Congrats to. A. Donaldson 🥇, J. Taylor 🥈 and P. Hueso 🥉 on the podium.
Thanks to all riders for coming and riding with us today.

And of course, we also had the orange jersey, A. Donaldson and O. White got it 🏆
