Today, I took our GGCC team on a wild adventure through the virtual jungle of New York via the Zwift riding platform. Picture this: four laps of exhilarating cycling, dodging virtual pigeons and ambitious squirrels on the infamous “Gotham Grind” course. Big shoutout to JC for rocking the red outfit today—looking so sharp he could slice through the air during sprints! And let’s not forget Jam, who almost kept us from crashing into the virtual pizza joint and always had an IPA ready. Good job, team! 🍕🍺👍🏻

For the lead-in part, we kicked things off at a whopping 2.6W/kg, just enough to get the motors running! After that, I cranked up my average power to 2,8W/kg while balancing on my impressive 71kg frame, and in a dramatic twist, soared to 3,4W/kg uphill for the grand finale before the optional minirace—because why not?
Before the sprints, I decided it was time to unleash a little extra power—think of it as revving my engine before the big race. Especially for that last sprint, we went all out like we were trying to catch a runaway ice cream truck! Some sprinters were already testing their racing wings for the first time, like kids on their first bike ride.
Now, let’s check out who snagged the coveted green jersey—cue the drumroll!

After the sprints were done, we turned our attention to the epic showdown known as the optional minirace. I cranked up my pace, trying to wake up my legs as if they were stubborn teenagers refusing to get out of bed.
As usual, we launched from the peloton like caffeinated kangaroos at the sprint banner. Two riders shot off like they were being chased by a rabid raccoon, going all out for a 7km time trial. By the end, one of them showed us he still had a little magic left in those tired legs.
Then, we formed a merry little peloton, led by the legendary JC, who seemed to think we were on a leisurely Sunday cruise instead of racing. Did his sprint result made him tired 🤔
