Today, I led our GGCC team on a wild adventure through the digital labyrinth of the “Loop de loop de loop”, where the only thing missing was my virtual horse! We pedaled our way around Paris on the Zwift riding platform, feeling more like bicycle tourists than elite cyclists. It was a thrilling five-lap training ride, complete with an optional mini-race at the end that was about as necessary as a donut in a gym!
Shout out to Jam for rocking the red today like a traffic light and to Jamie for wrangling our peloton—great job, team! Who knew we could have so much fun without a single flat tire? 😂

We kicked things off during the lead-in at a leisurely 2.6 W/kg, like we were out for a Sunday stroll rather than a race. Once we hit the lap banner, I thought, “Why not crank this up to a steady 200W avg?” This way, our sprinters could focus on their heroic acts of speed while I played the part of the human bulldozer. We had some sprinters today who were stronger than my morning coffee!
I took it upon myself to be the group’s pace-setter, trying to drag us along at a slightly spicier pace, giving our sprinters a nice draft—because who doesn’t love a good boost? We squeezed in two sprints each lap, so let’s see what impressive, and possibly embarrassing, numbers we racked up!

Congrats to C. Oldham and P. eriksson for going in green 🏆
Now that the “sprints” had been successfully conquered and buried under a pile of sweaty socks, we embarked on a leisurely lap—think of us as race car drivers on a Sunday stroll. I dialed back the speed just a notch to herd the crew together, like a cat with its kittens. But don’t be fooled; we were still revving up enough to make the race start feel like a rocket launch. As we approached the grand finale, I cranked up the speed like a kid with a sugar rush. Just for kicks, I decided to lower the fence to 2 seconds (talk about living on the edge!) and let me tell you, the pace for that last lap transformed into absolute chaos! 👹
We kicked off with a small group zooming off like we were being chased by a swarm of angry bees! For a hot minute, we all huddled together for that sweet drafting effect, like a bunch of cyclists in a conga line. But then, just as we hit the “climb” up to the arch, one brave soul decided he was too cool for school and bolted off at a tempo that made my legs feel like jelly. A few fearless riders cranked up the power and managed to snag him before reaching the second sprint. I, being the genius that I am, thought I’d give it a whirl and zoomed off after the second sprint—only to find the rest of the gang playing catch-up like they were in a race against the clock! By the finish line, we were all in a mad dash to see who could cross with style and grab that sweet lap number. In the end, we had our podium, and oh boy, let’s see what trophies we’ve got!

Congrats to. P. Eriksson 🥇, E. C.🥈 and C. Oldham 🥉 on the podium.
Thanks to all riders for coming and riding with us today, it was a lot of fun.
