Zwift-GGCC Glasgow Green Saturday Training Ride 31-10-2026

Today I had the pleasure of dragging our GGCC team around the virtual streets of the “Flatland Loop” on the Zwift riding platform (not really flat 😬). We did three laps of quality suffering, sprinkled with some spicy sprints and an optional mini-race for anyone who still had legs left.
Special shout-out to Jam for going deep into the red today – you rode like your Wi‑Fi bill depended on it 👍🏻

We kicked off at a steady warm-up pace, gently convincing our legs that today was about more than just turning pedals. Each lap featured two punchy sprints—the Country Sprint and Village Sprint—but we holstered the fireworks after the first two laps to save some gas in the tank for the optional 5.4km mini-race finale. The group was stacked today, everyone riding like their trainer fan bill depended on it, pushing hard and clocking a solid 204W average (hitting 206W avg at 71kg pre-mini). Lap 1 saw a little split after the intense sprints and gnarly downhill, but massive kudos to the chase riders who shut it down and stitched us back together. At the same downhill during the 2’nd lap the peloton was totally together.

On each sprint of the two per lap our sprinters used their strong legs. We really had some hard sprinting with good numbers to show up. The sprinters could bring some really good numbers to the table during the 2’nd lap indeed. Let’s check the results for both of them:
Country Sprint:

Congrats to K. Jiang for getting the green jersey here 🏆

Village Sprint:

Congrats to KH.OH for getting the green jersey here 🏆

Sprints wrapped, I grabbed the steering wheel of chaos and towed the peloton to the optional 5.4km mini-race start like a slightly overexcited tour guide. We ramped up the watts to wake up everyone’s legs, steadily reeling in the fence’s gap first, all the way down to 2s right before GO—perfectly timed drama.
Group stuck together like it was held together with superglue, so we had a clean, fair launch. Race kicked off, a strong breakaway rocketed ahead like they’d just realized they left the oven on at home. Massive kudos to the peloton for keeping us right on the line. Attacks flew at the last sprint, and the rest of the riders somehow kept the pack intact on the downhill rollercoaster.
Now, let’s peek at the results before our heart rates finally catch up:

Congrats to J. Coers 🥇, Martin B, 🥈 and KH.OH 🥉 for the podium – good racing 👍🏻

Thanks to everyone for coming and riding with us today.

  1. Thx Martin, it’s going to be a while before I can ride properly again! I’ll just do short segments as I did this morning. I’ll get you report(s) shared around as usual, thank you! Best, Brian
